DOUBLE HONOURS FOR LAGOS FIRE CHIEF
The Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS), Mrs. Adeseye Margaret has been honoured with the Africa Safety & Emergency Response Ready Ambassador Award (SafERR) by the World Safety Organisation at the Health, Safety, Security and Environment Summit held recently at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Adeseye was recognised for her selfless dedication to protecting the lives and property of Lagos citizens alongside other dignitaries and corporate bodies including Safety Advocates, Fresh Fountain Consultants, Nigerian Association of Master Mariners, Federal Road Safety Corps and National Emergency Management Agency.
Similarly, over the weekend at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, Mrs. Adeyeye also received a National Award for the Firefighter of the Year from the Leadership Excellence Award (LEEX 2023) on the platform of Igbere TV who described the awardee as “having a good heart in carrying the public burden at their worst time”.
The Firefighter of the Year Award was bestowed on her for outstanding performance as a team leader in swiftly responding to fire and related emergencies as well as serving humanity.
Dignitaries at the occasion include Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu; Secretary to the Government of Federation, George Akume and Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu among others.
It should be noted that winners at the award ceremony were drawn from a wide range of occupational health and safety elements, incident investigation, emergency preparedness and innovations. AfriSafe is a clarion call for a safer workplace and a safer Africa.
